Overview

The JSP Foundation works in partnerships with the Govt. and people by using Triple Bottom Line as an approach for achieving ecological balance, sustainable and inclusive development in the region. In line with this unique approach to its CSR activities, the Foundation has supported two Micro-Watershed Management Projects, - "The Jay Kissan and Kalapata Watersheds", located in the Banarpal block of Angul district in Odisha and WADI development program in Tamnar at Chhattisgarh in collaboration with National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development(NABARD).

Environment & Agriculture

In order increase agriculture production and productivity on a sustainable basis with simultaneous focus on ecological enrichment of bio diversity, an Integrated Watershed Development Programme is under implementation in Angul district over a catchment of 4500 acres. Through the integrated watershed project, the bio diversities of the Catchment have been conserved and enriched, Soil erosion controlled and the ground water table has been increased across all slopes. 3500 farming families are able to enhance their income from farm and non-farm sector on sustainable basis.

WADI development programme is an a agro-horti-silvi-pasture based project implemented under the aegis of JSP FOUNDATION at Tamnar in partnership with NABARD for transforming the lives of 500 tribal farmers and their families by developing orchard and intercropping of vegetables.

Environment & Agriculture

The Foundations' efforts are also aimed at holistically developing the Agriculture sector in the areas of operation. JSP Foundation also trains farmers in following crop rotation, multi crop farming, cash crop cultivation, exotic vegetable cultivation, organic agriculture produce.Farmers Club have been formed and Credit linkages, input support from agriculture department is provided to the farmer's club. More than 2000 farmers are involved in the agri practices.

Community Dairy: Community Dairy farming has more than 326 farmers engaged in the cattle rearing and dairy activities. The dairy farmers work in a cluster model and collect milk at Milk Collection Centres set up at village level where quality testing is being assured and then finally supplied to the market.

Apiculture: A project on Apiculture (beekeeping) has been initiated by JSP Foundation for the farmers at Angul, Odisha in which more than 50 farmers are engaged and have developed more than 25 honeybee colonies.
